Shopping centre jobs boost for Omagh

OMAGH could be set for a 200 strong jobs boost if plans for a shopping centre in the town get the green light.
Work could begin on the project in the town's High Street as early as the new year if the project receives planning permission.
It is hoped the proposed shopping mall will be built on the site of the Royal Arms Hotel and will be a covered street rather than an enclosed centre.
Omagh district council chief executive John McKinney said it would be a welcome boost for the town.
"I think it gives confidence to people at large and it will also give confidence to traders.
"I also think it will bring new names, new labels, the new outlets and that's very important"
If the project gets the go-ahead it should be open in time for Christmas next year.
