THE FAMILIES of the two Spanish victims of the Omagh bombing have thanked the people of Northern Ireland for their kindness and condolences.
Relatives of Fernando Blasco (12) and his teacher Rocio Abad Ramos (23) placed an acknowledgment in yesterday's Irish News. The pair were killed along with 27 other men women and children in the bombing on August 15.
Their message of thanks was accompanied by a poem, entitled An Irish Blessing. It read: "May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sunshine warm upon your face. The rain fall soft upon your fields, until we meet again, may God hold you in the hollow of His hand."
The acknowledgment was placed by Omagh solicitor Patrick Laverty who acts for the Spanish families.
The relatives asked Mr Laverty to pass on their thanks when he was at a memorial service in Spain last week.
