"THE ONLY thing I want to tell them is I am with all my heart with them and that's why I went to play this game."
That was the message from David Ginola, after he took part in a charity match to raise funds for the victims of the Omagh bomb blast.
Gentleman Ginola joined Irish stars, Shay Given, Mick McCarthy, John Aldrich, Packie Bonner and Steve Staunton at Derry's Brandywell stadium last night for a gala fund raising football match.
In one of the most emotional nights the Brandywell has ever witnessed, Derry manager, Felix Healey's select defeated Mick McCarthy's selection by five goals to two.
But the score didn't matter. The magic was palpable as French star, Ginola ran onto the pitch to roars of approval from thousands who had packed the terraces
Before the game, Derry's own Phil Coulter provided musical backing to singing star Brian Kennedy. When the duo launched into football anthem "You'll never walk alone," the crowd joined in in a message that went all the way to Omagh.
