Omagh Fund trustees hope to raise £12m
THE Omagh Fund trustees hope to raise £12 million for bomb victims and families who lost loved ones in the August 15 attack.
One trustee predicted yesterday that the project would become the "most emotional global fund of all time".
The fund may also help up to 2,000 people traumatised by the attack that shattered families in Co Donegal and Spain as well as Omagh.
The trustees are: Derry man, Mr O'Dwyer; Joy McCormick, from Co Donegal; the Duke of Abercorn; Dr Clifford McCord, a retired GP and Dr Aideen McGinley, chief executive of Fermanagh district council. So far, £211,000 has been gathered and£46,000 has been paid out in emergency payments.
