Event raises �100,000 for Omagh fund
A CHARITY gala in Dublin's RDS complex last night raised more than �100,000 for the Omagh relief fund.
A thousand guests paid �150 each to attend the event and bid for a range of prizes - including a formula one jacket signed by Bangor's Eddie Irvine, star driver for the Ferrari team.
Other prizes which were sold at the auction included designer wear by Ireland's John Rocha, as well as trips to New York and South Africa.
The dinner was organised by the Irish Grocery Trade, which represents grocers on both sides of the border.
Guests a the dinner included Colin and Wendy Parry, whose son Tim was killed in the 1993 Warrington bomb blast, and the parents of Oran Doherty, an eight-year-old Buncrana boy killed in the Omagh blast.
