Publicans in Omagh fund charity gala
PUBLICANS in Strabane are planning a major charity drive to raise money for the Omagh bomb appeal.
Organised by the town's vintners' association, the ten-day event will take the form of a coordinated series of entertainment events and it is hoped it will raise thousands of pounds for the Omagh bomb victims.
On Monday the Bridgend bar will host a number of local entertainers while Felix's Bar will present a night at the races on Wednesday next.
Throughout the following week, various bars in the town will feature entertainment by local artistes as well as quiz nights and discos.
One of the more unusual events will be a sponsored walk organised by the Greyhound bar. Walkers will undertake a journey from Strabane to Ballymagorry on Sunday October 4.
