Omagh fund nets stars with on-line fundraiser

SPORTING and showbiz fans can score a double by splashing out for their heroes' memorabilia - and raising cash for the Omagh fund.
An on-line auction of unique sporting and celebrity mementoes starts today and includes Eddie Irvine's helmet signed by all the Formula One drivers - it has a reserve price of £10,000.
A commemorative book charting Manchester United's successes in the 1960s is available to bidders. It has been signed by team members
including George Best, Bobby Charlton and Denis Law.
A chance to look sporting and fashionable awaits the winning bidder for Darren Clarke's jacket from the Valderama European golf team.
From the Boyzone enthusiast to the football crazy, there is something to meet every taste via the modem-accessed auction.
Former Miss Northern Ireland Fiona Hurley showed yesterday she was an all-rounder by sporting an Ireland rugby jersey and dribbling with an autographed Spurs FC football.

Omagh district council chief executive John McKinney said: "As this is the last fundraising activity initiated on behalf of the fund before the close of the appeal, we hope that it will be a popular and successful one."
