OMAGH bomb victim Julia Hughes is to receive a posthumous degree from Dundee University later today.
Julia (21) was studying accountancy at the Scottish university and returned to her native Omagh for the summer holidays when she was killed in the August 15 bomb while working in a camera shop.
Her parents will be present in Dundee later today when the university will bestow the degree on their daughter. Meanwhile, statutory, voluntary and educational groups have come together in Buncrana, County Donegal, to organise a ceremony to mark the first anniversary of the bombing. Three young boys from the town, Shaun McLaughlin, Oran Doherty and James Barker lost their lives in the atrocity along with Spanish students Fernando Blasco Baselga and Rocio Abad Ramos.
