Celts aid for Omagh
THE Irish Celtic Supporters Association are arranging trips for the upcoming away games against Dundee on December 27 and Rangers on January 3.
All interested should contact association travel manager Joe McGrattan (Belfast 300913) or Jim Greenan (0035386 8396736).
The association's new magazine will not now be launched until the next meeting on January 16 in Castlebar.
Association clubs wishing to place club information in the magazine are asked to contact PRO Martin McManus (01849 42844) immediately.
The Omagh branch of the Glasgow Celtic supporters club are doing their bit to raise funds for the appeal fund following the tragic events in the town on August 15.
The club have organised a gala dinner for January 8 in the Royal Arms Hotel and several Celtic stars will be in attendance.
Officials at Parkhead have not yet revealed which players will visit the town, but former legend Billy McNeill will definitely be in attendance. Several of the other Lisbon Lions are also expected to attend.
With a three week break in the Scottish leagues after Christmas, the players are understood to be in demand during that period but several of the current team will be making the trip.
Tickets go on sale this week and are priced at £15 each.
Around 250-300 people are expected to attend the function and MC for the evening will be one of the club's own members, Des Fahy.
An auction will be held on the night with two autographed Celtic jerseys -one signed by the current team and one by the European Cup winning side of 1967 - up for grabs.
Tyrone's All-Ireland winning minor Aidan Lynch is donating his jersey and a shirt worn by one of the Offaly hurlers in their All-Ireland triumph this summer will also be auctioned.
The Omagh branch has almost 200 members including 41 season ticket holders.
For further information contact either club secretary Eamon McGale (01662 245109) or Shane Fox (0836 768291).
