MORE THAN 300 people from Ardglass and Dunsford gathered in the car park of the Phennick Cove marina in Ardglass village on Saturday to remember the victims of the Omagh bomb.
The service was organised by the Church of Ireland, Presbyterian and Catholic congregations. The Rev Graham Savidge of the Church of Ireland was accompanied by David Hunter of the Presbyterian community, and Mrs Jeanette Hunter,
chairperson of the Catholic Pastoral Council of Dunsford and Ardglass, representing Father Byrne PP and his parishioners.
Mr Savidge led the crowd in the Franciscan prayer for peace and at 3.10pm a minute's silence was observed. The business community of Ardglass also paused briefly to show their solidarity with the people of Omagh while at Ardglass Golf Club players in the annual Silver Herring open stroke stopped for a minute at 3.10 at the request of the captain and council.
