Children weep in rain for schoolboy

SCHOOL friends of murdered teenager Alan Radford stood weeping in the rain outside his home yesterday as hundreds of mourners gathered for his funeral.
The 16-year-old had been shopping with his mother Marion on Saturday when the Omagh car bomb exploded.
Yesterday Mormon Elder Bob Peacock led a private service inside the Radford's Castleview home.
Outside several hundred mourners gathered in the drizzle, waiting patiently for the cortege to leave.
The house was silent except for the occasional sound of voices raised in a hymn.
Among the many floral tributes were wreaths from Omagh High School were Alan was a pupil and from the St Johns Ambulance Service.
Alan's weeping mother and husband followed his coffin from their home to the end of the street where the cortege left for Greenhill Cemetery on the outskirts of Omagh.
Mourners were slightly delayed after a minor accident on the route between a police motorcyclist and a car.
