Counsellors say impact of tragedy yet to be felt

INDIVIDUALS faced with the task of counselling the community in Omagh believe it could take between two and three weeks for the enormity of the massacre to hit home.
One person who provides counselling help in the area said: "People are just traumatised. You have no idea how much shock there is in Omagh, the whole community has been touched.
"We know from experience that it is too soon to rush in to help people and that it is two or three weeks down the road when people come forward seeking assistance.
"When the buzz and activity dies down, when the TV crews go away and when people are not interested in talking anymore, is when our help will be most needed," said the counsellor.
