Mum phones in message of sympathy

SCORES of people continued to call The Irish News comment line yesterday to voice their opinions on the Omagh bomb blast.
Among the callers was Maureen Kearney, the mother of Andrew Kearney who was murdered in the New Lodge area of Belfast in July.
In a simple and moving message, Mrs Kearney said she wanted to express her "sincere sympathy and horror at the atrocity of the bomb in Omagh".
She added: "I would like to send to all the families of the dead and the wounded the sympathies of our entire family circle. Our hearts are with you all during this time."
The 65-year-old, who lives in Twinbrook with her husband Tommy, concluded by saying that "we know what you are going through. God bless you all".
Andrew Kearney bled to death after a so-called punishment attack when he was shot three times in the legs at his flat in Fianna House in the New Lodge.
