VIPS whistle-stop round of meetings and speeches

President Clinton will not be making any major public appearance during the Dublin leg of his Irish visit.
The major crowd-pulling events luring his three-day trip will be pubic addresses in Limerick on Saturday and in Armagh this evening.
President Clinton arrives in Belfast Airport from Moscow around 8.30am this morning, from where he will travel straight to Stormont to meet party leaders at 9.15am.
He will be joined by Hillary Clinton in the city centre Waterfront Hall round 11.30am where he will give a Keynote address to an invited audience. From there he goes to the Springvale Centre in west Belfast, the site of the proposed peaceline college.
The president will fly to Omagh mid-afternoon where he will unveil a plaque and place a wreath to the bombing victims and meet their families. He then travels to Armagh for a 6pm meeting with Church leaders followed by a farewell speech to an expected crowd of 20,000 in the mall.
The president then flies by helicopter to Dublin arriving in the Phoenix Park around 10pm tonight where there will be a brief photocall before staying overnight at the US Ambassador's residence.
At 11am tomorrow he meets Taoiseach Bertie Ahern in Government Buildings, after which he will meet trade union leaders, employers and politicians at a noon reception in the Royal College of Surgeons. Mrs Clinton will be present at the College of Surgeons function, but the rest of her time in Dublin will be "private". She is expected to visit some tourist attractions.
At 2.20pm the president will give a speech in Gateway 2000's Clonshaugh headquarters, near Dublin Airport, where he will also sign a treaty with Ireland on digital encryption standards. The rest of his day will be spent in meetings with a congressional delegation accompanying him and US embassy staff. President Clinton leaves Dublin Airport at 9pm travelling on Air Force One to Shannon and overnighting at Adare Manor, Co Limerick.
On Saturday morning he will receive the freedom of Limerick City at an outdoor podium on the junction of O'Connell Street and Bedford Row around 11am. At 2pm he will play his long-awaited round of golf in Ballybunion Golf Club with Dick Spring, Charlie McCreevy and Club Captain Brian McCarthy. White House sources stressed there would be no walkabout in Ballybunion however. Following his golf the President will depart for home from Shannon Airport.
There will be extensive live coverage of the visit on RTE One television starting this morning. Major traffic restrictions will be in place during the visit, particularly in Dublin tomorrow.
