Gardai began intensive house-to-house inquiries in, Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan yesterday following Monday's public appeal for information which might pinpoint the movements of the car used in the Omagh bombing.
The maroon Vauxhall Cavalier was stolen outside a house in St Macartan's Villas early last Thursday. Carrickmacross UDC Chairman Francie O'Donoghue said: "We can only plea to the warlords to call off their terrible war of attrition against the people in t he North"
