Draconian legislation attacked'
SOLICITORS in Belfast yesterday attacked the "draconian" legislation planned by the British and Irish governments in the wake of the Omagh, bombing. The Solicitors Criminal Bar Association said if the measures are brought in they will move the criminal justice system away from the standard of due process required by a democratic society but also by the European Convention Human Rights and it effectively abolished the crucial' assumption of innocence.
