PLEA FOR SOLIDARITY OVER CLINTON VISIT

Plea for solidarity over Clinton visit

THE unity and grieving of Omagh should not be marred by any divisiveness over President Clinton's proposed visit next week, SDLP ,west Tyrone Assembly member Joe Byrne, said yesterday.
Mr Byrne said Omagh Council decided to invite the US president at last Tuesday's meeting. All councillors supported the decision demonstrating a united spirit and purpose.
"The sensitive visits of other eminent persons have been a source of support and solidarity to the people of Omagh as well as a means of underlining the universal repudiation of this atrocity," Mr Byrne said.
