INLA CHIEF URGES TOTAL CEASEFIRE

INLA chief urges total ceasefire

A leading INLA inmate yesterday, insisted that the war was over and urged remaining republican dissidents to call a total ceasefire. Christopher 'Clip' McWilliams, alleged to have killed LVF leader Billy Wright and already serving life for murder, denied it was a ploy to allow the release of INLA prisoners,
"The war is over," he said from one of Belfast's H-Blocks.
He also, admitted: "We have done wrong in the past," although be said the INLA had nothing to apologise for regarding attacks on security forces. He said a ceasefire was justified as a result; of the peace referendum.
