Cardinal Cahal Daly has condemned those behind the Omagh bomb as evil.
He has read aloud the names of the victims who were buried yesterday and labelled those who are sheltering the people responsible for the atrocity as evil as well.
The rain fell on the former All-Ireland Primate in Old Melifont Abbey near Collon, Co. Louth, yesterday afternoon during his comments as part of a thanksgiving Mass to mark the ninth centenary of the founding of the Cistercians. He told the congregation of 200 people that the outrage was sacrilegiously perpetrated on the feast of Our Lady's Assumption.
"Mary's heart is broken by the awful sin of those who planted that bomb, those who made it, those who planned the whole evil operation, those who helped carry it out and those hiding the bombers."
