McKevitts get 'locked out' of own business

The Dundalk business of maverick Republicans Mickey and Bernadette McKevitt was closed down yesterday. The locks at the print Junction shop were changed this morning. And gardai were, on standby at the shopping centre in case there was any breach of the peace.
The move came after other retailers complained that the presence of the McKevitts had adversely affected business.
The McKevitts are members of the 32-County Sovereignty Committee which Taoiseach Bertie Ahern says is the political wing of the Real IRA, which bombed Omagh.
Meanwhile, solicitors of the McKevitts today warned that in the light of what they described as all the defamatory material published about their clients, libel proceedings were being taken. They would also be asking the landlord of the shopping centre what legal basis admission to the shop had been refused. Their solicitor said that many of the statements made about their clients since the Omagh bombing were libelous.
Meanwhile, Archbishop Desmond Connell will celebrate a special Mass in the Pro-Cathedral at tomorrow, for those who died or were injured in the Omagh bombing.
