Band competition cancelled
The planned County Championships for the marching bands scheduled for Letterkennny on Sunday last was postponed due to both the atrocity in Omagh and because of the inclement weather conditions.
Thirteen bands affiliated to the Donegal Marching Bands Association were to participate in the event which was to form part of the festivities in the Cathedral town.
A spokesman for the Donegal Band Association said this week that the executive committee will be meeting shortly to discuss the situation and all bands will be informed of any decision in relation to a new date and venue.
