Time to turn them in - McGlinchey
Long serving Fianna Fail councillor, Bernard McGlinchey yesterday said the clay of not informing to the authorities has gone.
Speaking at a special meeting of Donegal County Council, Colr. McGlinchey said history had not looked kindly on informers, but said those days have now gone.
"This is the time for anybody who knows anything whatsoever about the planting of this bomb to pass it on to the authorities.
A special appeal should be also made to people who know anything about the whereabouts of any other arms or Semtex to also pass that information on to the authorities too. In that way perhaps we can avoid another community feeling the grief and anguish that Omagh and Buncrana are feeling today."
Colr. McGlinchey who has relatives in Omagh, said he could only attempt to express the contempt he felt for the people who had perpetrated this deed
"I only hope," he added, " that the Almighty can console those people who have suffered so much."
