REAL IRA CLAIM RESPONSIBILITY

Real IRA' claim responsibility

The so called 'real IRA' yesterday claimed responsibility for the bomb that claimed 28 lives in Omagh on Saturday.
In a statement issued to the Dublin offices of 'The Irish News' Oglaigh na hEireann said it never intended to kill civilians and its target had been commercial.
"We offer our apologies to these civilians. It was not our intention at any time to kill any civilians."
The group said it issued three warnings - "40 minute warnings on each of them."
"The location was 300-400 yards from the courthouse. At no time was it said it was near the courthouse," it added.
