The November meeting of the Raphoe I.C.A. was held in Raphoe Presbyterian Hall. Audrey Starritt, President, welcomed two new members to the meeting. She gave a report on the 'fun night' that was held in the Mount Errigal Hotel. The proceeds of this function has been donated to the Omagh Fund.
Jean McKean, the guest speaker for International Night, told the members of her trip to India. She described many aspects of life there. She entertained the members with slides of the people and places. This was enjoyed by everyone. A vote of thanks to Mrs McKean was proposed by Violet Duncan.
Audrey Starritt won the competition for a post-card from abroad and Myrtle Quinn was awarded second place. Tea hostesses for the evening were Etta Hayes, Myrtle Quinn and Jean Reynolds.
Congratulations were extended to Eva Coyle, a member of the Raphoe Guild, and also the I.C.A. National President, on becoming a member of the Teagasc Board in Dublin.
Federation Timire, Eithne O'Doherty, has organised a competition for Primary Schools entitled "seanfhocaal as gaeilge". The closing date for the competition is January 31st, 1999.
The next meeting will be held in Camone Hall on December 8th. A demonstration in flower arranging will be given by Ann Smith and Elizabeth Craig. The competition will be a parcel for Rehab.
