INJURED EMMET RECEIVES DREAM VISITOR
Injured Emmet receives dream visitor
He may still have been in intensive care following the horrific Omagh bombing but young Bunacrana lad Emmet McLaughlin was spurred onto recovery following a very special visiter to the Erne Hospital in Enniskillen last week.
Emmet awoke for a short time to discover George Graham, manager of his beloved Leeds United FC at the foot of his bed.
George made a flying visit from Dublin where his team were playing a challenge game and presented young Emmet with a Leeds shirt and
signed football.
"He's still poorly, but the visit seemed to brighten him up a bit. I think he was a bit overawed and was very quiet, but you could see the delight in his eyes, said Mr. Graham. In addition to the gifts, the Leeds manager also promised Emmet that he would arrange a trip for him to travel to Elland Road in England to train with the Leeds United team.
Meanwhile two Glasgow Celtic officials and Danish international player Mark Rieper attended the funerals of young Buncrana bomb victims, Oran Doherty, Shaun McLaughlin and James Barker. The coffin of 11 year old Oran, who was a fanatical Celtic fan, was draped in the flag of the famous Scottish club.
