Chelsea gear up for Town challenge

CHELSEA manager Gianluca Vialli will hope to use the Ulster experience to lead his team to glory this season, writes Stuart McKinley.
Vialli and his team of superstars are in the province for tomorrow's night friendly with Omagh Town at St Julian's Road in aid of the Omagh Bomb Appeal Fund. The shrewd Italian has tunnel vision as far as his ambitions for the new season are concerned - he wants to be number one and will tell his players just that during their short stay here.
The Londoners faded when the crunch came last term, leaving Arsenal to battle the title out with eventual champions Manchester United. Chelsea arrived in Northern Ireland yesterday and set up training headquarters at Newforge Country Club in Belfast. They had a workout there yesterday and were back again today.
All the big names are here with little Gianfranco Zola and £10 million man Chris Sutton being the main attractions.
Then there is Marcel Desailly, Frank Lebeouf, Gustavo Poyet, Tore Andre Flo and co.
And let us not forget the purpose of the match itself - Chelsea will be followed by United and Liverpool in the next couple of months to aid the Omagh fund.
There are a few terrace tickets left for the Chelsea match and they will be sold on the evening of the game at kiosks on the main road as you drive towards the St Julian's Road ground. Spectators are advised to get to the match as early as possible as a large crowd is anticipated.
