Author lets Omagh victims have their say

AN English author is writing a book about the Omagh bomb atrocity in which 29 people and two unborn children were killed.
Graham Spencer wrote to all the families of the dead and to the injured asking them to record their memories and feelings. Around half agreed to take part.
He was in Omagh this week to meet them and begin putting together their first-person accounts for his book.
The 40-year-old from Portsmouth said: "I thought a gap of nearly five years was probably enough time for some people who had not come forward earlier. To make a substantive book it needed to be approximately half the families and it looks like it has worked out about that.
"The survivors of the Omagh bomb have very moving stories to tell - and of course still hold a lot of anger.
"The book will be verbatim interviews of the people I will be speaking to. They will be telling their story of the day in their own words."
