OMAGH COMMUNITY HOUSE SCHEME LAUNCHED
£2.4m centre on site of 1998 bomb

Omagh town centre is today looking forward to a brighter future as work begins on a £2.4 m Community House on the site of the 1998 bomb.
Survivors of the blast which killed 29 people and unborn twins returned to Market Street yesterday evening for the official launch of the project.
An inscribed stone was unveilled by Loretta Brennan Glucksman, chairwoman of the America Ireland Fund which provided much of the funding.
She paid tribute to all those affected by the bomb and added: "Their courage and dignity reflects that of the people of Northern Ireland in overcoming the terrible events and moving to a new society."
Donna Marie McGillion,who was badly injured in the Omagh bomb, described the Community House as "a positive step forward" which she hoped would help people look to the future. The house will provide office space for 12 community groups including women's groups, rural regeneration, mental handicap, employment and training, cross-community and volunteer.
