THE former MI5/RUC agent "Kevin Fulton", who claims he warned his RUC handlers of an imminent Real IRA attack 48 hours before the 1998 Omagh atrocity, is considering taking the Chief Constable to court to prove his reliability as an informer.
Sources close to Fulton said last night the former agent had been angered by the Sir Ronnie Flanagan claim that information he passed to the RUC was unreliable. The source said Fulton was determined to prove he was credible and the only way he could do so was through the courts.
"At the time of the Omagh bomb, Kevin Fulton was graded an "Al" informant by CID. That infers he was reliable and that the information he provided was accurate", the source said. "To prove to the families of the victims of the Omagh bomb that he is credible, Kevin Fulton is taking legal advice with a view to bringing an action against the Chief Constable through the courts".
The source went on to say the former MI5/RUC agent had audio tapes of conversations between him and his handlers, which he was prepared to use to prove his reliability as an informer.
