McCreadie ready to welcome Sir Alex

ROY McCreadie was today looking forward to one of the great sporting night's in Omagh's history.
The Omagh Town manager and thousands of others were preparing to welcome Manchester United, the most famous football team in the planet.
In the Old Trafford travelling party, who landed in Aldergrove this morning, are star players Roy Keane, Teddy Sheringham, Andy Cole, Denis Irwin, Gary Neville and David May.
Also included is a number of talented youngsters such as Northern Ireland starlet David Healy, Mark Wilson, John Curtis, Michael Clegg, Jonathan Greening and winger Luke Chadwick, seen as the next big thing at United.
But perhaps the biggest draw or the lot is Sir Alex Ferguson, the man who has guided United to such remarkable success in the 90s.
It will be the first time that Ferguson has visited Northern Ireland as a knight - an honour to go with all the others he has won with United.
League championships, FA Cups, doubles and last season the historic treble which included Ferguson's great desire, the European Cup.
All three pieces of silverware will be on show at St Julian's Road this evening for the 7,000 fans to admire and take as many photographs as they can.
Most important of all, those paying spectators will have raised even more money for the Omagh Bomb Appeal Fund -just as the supporters did at last week's Chelsea game.
"The Chelsea match ran smoothly and we are hoping and praying that the United match does the same," said McCreadie this morning.
"It's incredible to think that the team who won the treble last season will be playing at our humble St Julian's Road ground. We cannot thank them enough for this gesture.
"I know everyone is looking forward to seeing United play and also seeing the great Alex Ferguson but I think the biggest attraction will be the trophies.
"This is the first time that the European Cup, FA Cup and Premiership trophy will be in the province at the same time and probably the last as well, so that will be really something.
"It's going to be a night to remember," added McCreadie, who will again play past and present Omagh players this evening.
The match is scheduled to kick-off at 7.15pm but having witnessed the incredible scenes and traffic congestion when Chelsea were in town last week, it is advised that those with tickets for this sellout game should arrive much earlier than that.
After the match there is a special reception at the Silverbirch Hotel. Again proceeds will go to the Appeal fun
