Doctor retires

THE consultant who led the battle to save lives after the Omagh bomb is to stand down from his top post with Sperrin Lakeland Trust.
Dr Clive Russell will relinquish his role as medical director when his three year contract expires at the end of March. He will, however, continue to practise as consultant physician at the Tyrone County Hospital, where he has been based for almost 20 years.
Dr Russell was awarded the OBE the New Years Honours list for his role in the aftermath of the August 15 bombing.
