Victims recalled
TWO women who died in the Omagh bomb massacre have been remembered with a special memorial service by their fellow members of the Women's Institute.
Olive Hawkes and Veda Short were both active and members of the Women's Institute in Beragh.
At the first meeting of the new season, Beragh WI paid tribute to Mrs Hawkes, a mother-of-two and Mrs Short, a mother-of-four who worked in Watterson's drapers store in Omagh and was one of three staff members killed in the bombing.
Members of both women's families were present for the service, during which the 27 other victims of the atrocity were also remembered.
A minute's silence was observed.
