Bank loans making dreams come true

APPLICATIONS for bank loans to finance dream holidays, speedboats and home improvements have soared in Omagh since last year's bomb, according to a forthcoming radio programme.
Broken Hearts, an emotional radio documentary from BBC Radio Ulster, is presented by broadcaster Paul Moore, an Omagh resident and former lecturer at the local college.
In the programme he examines how the community has come to terms with the atrocity which claimed the lives of 29 people and injured 350 last August. The presenter said he was particularly struck by the revelation from a bank manager in the town that loans for dream holidays,speedboats and home improvements has soared since the atrocity.
Broken Hearts is broadcast on BBC Radio Ulster on Saturday August 14 at 11.30am and on BBC Radio Five Live at 12.05pm on Sunday August 15.
