Hand over bombers Omagh urges the IRA

THE IRA were today urged to hand over the Omagh bombers on the first anniversary of the atrocity.
Michael Gallagher, whose only son Adrian died in the blast, has also urged republicans to decommission for the victims of the August 15 outrage.
He said that if all those behind the 31 murders, including those of the unborn twins, were convicted, it will help in their grieving process.
"I think it's very disappointing that the republican movement have not handed in these people. It was their explosives which were probably used in the bombing," he said.
"The Real IRA carried it out for the same principle as they stand for and Sinn Fein and the IRA have condemned it but could do a lot more for us by telling someone who did it.
"We need these people to be caught to help us to grieve. They have got responsibilities to the people of Omagh and the people of this country.
He added he was disappointed peace hadn't been firmly established since the bombing and feels the IRA and loyalists should have decommissioned their weapons at the time.
He said: "It's still not too late. Omagh is the classic example for decommissioning."
As a spokesman for the relatives, Mr Gallagher has called on the dissident loyalist terror groups, the Red Hand Defenders and Orange Volunteers, to call off their actions now.
He said: "The drip of blood has started again and I fear it may not be too long before we have another atrocity. Before Omagh there were various smaller incidents and then it happened."
He said his family is still trying to come to terms with Adrian's murder one year on.
Car mechanic Adrian had gone into Omagh on the day of the blast to buy a new pair of jeans and boots.
He died alongside his best friend Michael Barrett, who was badly burned by the huge explosion in the town's Market Street.
