Omagh set to shop to Dixie sounds

THE Ulster Jazz Band will be playing Dixieland in the town centre of Omagh on Saturday afternoon by special request.
"We have been invited to help restore normality as people go about their shopping," said David McCollum, one of the six-piece band.
"We are delighted to be asked. Our show will be our usual programme - the one we play at festivals all over Ireland and abroad. We are not planning to leave anything out or put in anything special.
"But Omagh is bound to be an emotional occasion for us."
Also on Saturday, Boyzone visit Omagh for two sell-out shows at the town leisure centre.
It will be the most sensitive concert Ronan Keating and the rest of the glam band have ever performed.
And during both performances Keating will be re-assuring fans that Boyzone have no intention of splitting up as was forecast in a national tabloid.
The rumour started when Keating was tipped to take over the RTE Late Late Show after Gay Byrne retires.
