Omagh goes wild for boyz

THE 1,000 tickets for Boyzone's intimate Omagh benefit concert have been snapped up less than an hour after going on sale.
Hundreds queued in the freezing rain from early yesterday morning for tickets to see the boy-band superstars at Omagh Leisure Centre on January 2.
Record store boss Robert Clarke was forced to close his Route 66 shop as the crowds waited to get their hands on the exclusive tickets.
When the £10 tickets eventually went on sale, late yesterday afternoon, they were gone in less than an hour.
Throughout the day the crowds kept themselves warm by singing their favourite Boyzone hits.
Devoted dad Eugene Floyd, from Omagh's Shandon Park, was first in line for the tickets, determined that his daughter Alison (26), who was injured in the bomb, would not miss out.
"I knew the tickets would sell like hotcakes, so I made sure I was first in line," said father-of-seven Eugene.
Leona Carson (18), from Strathroy, was holding a place in the queue for her younger sister Korina who was hurt in the blast.
"Korina had to receive physiotherapy treatment at Tyrone County Hospital today, so she asked if I could help out," said Leona.
The chart-topping boy band play the show in Omagh just weeks after band members paid a surprise visit to 15-year-old Claire Gallagher, who lost her sight in the bombing.
