United front for Omagh

THIS Friday, clubbers at Bangor's Boom Boom Room can enjoy one of the best DJ line-ups to appear this year, as well as help raise money for an excellent cause - the Omagh Memorial Fund.
Clubland Unite is the highly appropriate name of the night, and a united front is exactly what's going to be on offer from some of the best and biggest name DJs currently working in Northern Ireland.
Robbie Nelson, Eddie Wray, Stephen McGonagle, Jacko, Mickey Modelle, Paul Murray, James G and Boom Boom Room resident Cliff McKay are the DJs who will all be working for free on the night.
And it's not just the DJs who are donating their time and services - everyone involved in the event, from the doormen to the cashiers and bar staff, will be working free of charge for this official Omagh fundraiser.
Considering the sparkling line-up of talent on offer, admission has been set at a measly £5 per person - but extra donations will be very welcome, so dig deep in your pockets on the night.
News of a new Thursday night event at The Factory nightclub - part of the Virgin Cinema Complex - has just been released.
Starting this month, clubbers will now be able to get down to some great sounds, courtesy of DJs Michael J and Steven Lennox at the venue's new Wheel of Illusion club night.
But anyone familiar with the type of antics they get up to at The Factory should know to expect much more than just music.
After paying an entry fee of £3.50, party animals are guaranteed a free drink with a spin of the wheel - sounds like just the way to start the weekend early. The Amp crew are back in the Art College this Saturday for a nignt of distinctive drum 'n' bass.
In fact, the organisers have gone so far as to claim that it's going to be one of the best drum 'n' bass events ever seen in the city - fighting talk, worthy of Prince Naseem himself!
Appearing on the night will be much-hyped music maker, DJ Ed Rush, who goes very big on bass sounds, so expect some big and beefy, reverberating beats on Saturday.
Ed's new album, Wormhole, out now on the Virus label and released along with co-producer Optical, is now making big waves in the world of techno/ electro/drum 'n' bass crossover - if you can imagine that!
Supporting Ed will be DJ Chris Caul, as well as local computer-twiddling, electro-based acts Calibre (aka Dominic Martin) and Generation Tonic.
