London offer to aid town's trauma

THE London Institute of Stress Management today offered to help the people of Omagh to deal with the trauma caused by the bomb atrocity.
The organisation contacted Sperrin Lakeland Health and Social Services Trust as full details of the long-term cost of the tragedy emerged.
Health chiefs in Omagh revealed this week that 2,500 people had been treated by hospitals or GPs after the Real IRA bomb that killed 29 people.
The Trust's chairman Hugh Mills also revealed that medical costs had spiralled to £2.5m and that "significant" further spending was required to deal with the long-term medical and psychological effects.
A spokeswoman for the London Institute of Stress Management said the organisation acted after reading a Belfast Telegraph report on the Internet.
