Omagh Bombing: 12 still held

TWELVE people, including four brothers, were today still being questioned about the Omagh bombing, by detectives on both sides of the Irish border.
Materials seized during yesterday's series of arrests were also undergoing forensic tests at Garda headquarters in Dublin.
Detectives believe the materials may have been used in the manufacture of the Omagh bomb and other bombs used by the so-called Real IRA.
Fifteen people remain in hospital following the August 15 blast which killed 29 and injured hundreds.
Two women are critically ill, but one patient, a little boy, was released from hospital yesterday.
Musgrave Park Hospital in Belfast is treating one woman for spinal cord injuries and will be preparing to fit artificial limbs to survivors over the next few weeks.
Garda and RUC officers arrested the 12 suspects in simultaneous dawn raids.
Six people are being held after a series of swoops in south Armagh, where detectives believe the bomb was assembled.
And six men from the Republic were also arrested in Co Monaghan yesterday morning and last night.
They include four brothers from Castleblaney and two other suspects from Carrickmacross who are being held at Monaghan and Carrickmacross garda stations.
Garda detectives are questioning them in connection with the theft of a Donegal registered maroon Vauxhall Cavalier which was used in the Omagh bombing.
