Health experts in plea for victims

HEALTH visitors today called for increased resources to deal with the aftermath of the Omagh atrocity.
Speaking before an urgent meeting of health visitors in the town today, the Community Practitioners and Health Visitors Association spokesman Phelim Quinn said the human cost of the suffering must be kept on the agenda.
Mr Quinn, CPHVA professional officer for Northern Ireland, said: "At this time, much is being made of high-level talks and political progress in Northern Ireland."
He added: "Suffering is ongoing and increased resources will be needed by the health visiting service to ensure adequate support is available for the people of Omagh".
A total of 30 people injured in the massacre are still being treated in hospitals across the province.
Two women remain critically ill in Belfast's Royal Victoria Hospital.
However, two patients have been discharged from the hospital since Monday.
A total of six women, one man and three children are still being treated at the RVH including two Spanish children and a Spanish teenager.
A spokeswoman for the RVH said one of the Spanish children and the Spanish teenager were now being let out for long spells and were coming along "very well indeed".
Another adult remains in intensive care in the Ulster Hospital. A further five people, including two children, are reported to be "comfortable" at the hospital.
Four females and two males remain stable in Altnagelvin, two women are stable in Tyrone County and another woman is stable in South Tyrone hospital.
A spokeswoman for Erne hospital in Enniskillen said two women patients were "satisfactory".
And a woman with spinal injuries, who is undergoing a period of rehabilitation at Musgrave Park Hospital, was today said to be making "satisfactory" progress.
