CHEATED

Cheated

AS one of the thousands who converged on St Anne's Cathedral to attend the memorial service for the victims of the Omagh bomb, I would like to express how disappointed I was in the arrangements.
As the cathedral quickly filled up, many, including myself, were unable to get in. Nothing wrong with that, as it was wonderful to feel the solidarity that such a crowd represented.
Not only was there no public address system to relay the service, but one would have thought that one of the team of clerics would have come on to the steps immediately before the minute's silence and led a prayer immediately afterwards
As somebody who felt the need to tap into some sort of spiritual comfort so that the sadness, grief and anger could be expunged to some extent, there is only one word to describe how I felt - cheated.
