Big club night will benefit Omagh Fund

Event set to raise funds

LEADING members of Belfast's club scene have got together to organise a benefit night in aid of the Omagh Memorial Fund.
The Belfast-based DJs and club promoters decided they wanted to do something to show their support and sympathy for the victims.
The result is Hope, a one-off club night to be held in the Limelight and Katy Daly's in Belfast's Ormeau Avenue on September 17.
The event will feature more than 15 of Northern Ireland's top DJs, including internationally acclaimed DJ David Holmes, Alan Simms of Shine, Bacardi Club DJ of the Year Jay Kay and Iain McCready.
All those taking part are offering their services free of charge, including the owners of the venue.
A spokesman for Hope said they were shocked, saddened and angered by the bomb attack in Omagh.
"We hope this special event will attract a substantial crowd in order to both raise money and show our sympathy and support for all those people affected by the bomb.
"Obviously we hope that those attending will be able to enjoy the diversity of music and talent on offer, while also remembering our reasons for organising this event.
"We have no political statement to make, other than to say that we hope the 28 deaths in Omagh might bring to an end the violence to which we have all grown too accustomed."
The organisers anticipate that they will attract a full house of 600 people to the event.
Admission will be £5 and all proceeds will go to the Omagh Memorial Fund.
Further voluntary donations will also be welcome on the night.
