STRIKING COMPARISONS

Striking comparisons

THERE has been a very distinct comparison between the terrible outrage at Omagh.
There has been the quiet dignified grief and compassion of those most affected. Their raw emotion and obvious heartbreak has been almost too
harrowing even for those of us not directly involved.
At the opposite end of the scale there is the reprehensible behaviour of members of the DUP.
I sat in disbelief as William McCrea had to be moved aside for an ambulance as he poured vitriol on the Secretary of State via CNN.
Since then we have had the political point-scoring of Peter Robinson and the Stormont demonstration of Paisley Jnr.
Sheer basic humanity should have told these people that there is a a time for politics and a time for contemplation.
As someone who has supported the DUP over the years, although not in the Referendum, I feel angered and embarrassed and I, along with quite a few others, now no longer share their views.
FORMER DUP SUPPORTER,
