Three on car crime charges
THREE men have been remanded in custody on car theft-linked charges by courts in the Republic after being questioned by police aiding the Omagh bomb investigation.
Patrick McNally, of Trim, Co Meath, was yesterday accused of handling a stolen vehicle by a District Court at Tullamore, Co Offaly.
Michael Byrne (54) and his son Paul (30) from Clane, Co Meath, faced a similar charge in Monaghan.
Last week two other men were charged in connection with stolen cars in court at Ballybay, Co Monaghan.
The arrests come after police activities throughout the Republic sparked by confirmation that the car used to bomb Omagh was stolen at Carrickmacross, in Co Monaghan.
