An opportunity to heal the divisions
THE Good Friday Agreement was approved by a substantial majority of voters in both parts of Ireland.
This is the first time, since 1919-1921, that all of the people of Ireland have been able to express their political will regarding their future.
The Agreement provides unionists and nationalist alike with the opportunity to heal the divisions of centuries, peacefully, over the coming years.
Those who oppose peace and try to impose their political will on their neighbours by violent means have no moral right to do so.
We must all understand that mindless violence can only lead to consequences too appalling to contemplate.
