YES VOTER FEELING BETRAYED
Yes voter feeling betrayed by empty promises
AS a Yes voter, looking back on May 22nd, I feel I have been betrayed by all who urged me to vote positively.
First by Tony Blair and his many commitments and promises, such as the one he made in the House of Commons on May 6 concerning decommissioning and prisoner release.
Next by David Trimble and the UUP leadership, for taking a weak stand over the Drumcree issue and not pushing this Government into allowing any member of this society, Protestant or Catholic, to parade anywhere, so long as it is done in a peaceful manner. It seems the UUP is in total disarray over the whole "peace process".
But now I fear that David Trimble will commit the ultimate betrayal and find some excuse to allow Gerry Adams and co into Government.
