PM committed to keeping SF happy
TWENTY-EIGHT lives brought to a premature and atrocious end and hundreds robbed of their friends and loved ones. Lured to their deaths as republican bombers once again leave their calling card.
One struggles to com prehend the sheer enormity of the situation and how those affected are coping. Beyond the grief and sympathy felt for all those involved I find the comments of government and the NIO absolutely nauseous and hypocritical, though not surprising, unfortunately.
Referring to the bombers, Tony Blair says: "Our determination has got to be that those people will never win and that democracy will triumph over evil. What is the difference between those people in PIRA and the authors of Saturday August 15?
Again the words of Tony Blair betray the true thrust of government policy. He says: "Those people who oppose the Agreement...are the very people we must defeat.
These words portray explicitly the difference between murderers in Blair's eyes. Those murderers that are with him and those that are against him.
The SF/IRA cessation, and, as a result, the loyalist ceasefire, has been bought by Tony and Mo with promises of prisoner releases, power in government, and cross-border bodies.
A cessation that the republican movement cannot say is permanent, as they refuse to say that the war is over and an admission that this is only a transitional phase in the struggle are poor foundations for peace.
This satanic pact exists simply due to the fact that only SF/IRA have the capability to hit Blair where it hurts - in the city of London. Tony Blair will keep his promises to SF/ IRA but has no problem misleading the electorate and refusing to fulfill his pledges to them.
This pact, through the Belfast Agreement, is thoroughly rotten and evil and cannot be the basis for peace, as we have sadly witnessed. The personnel, technology and equipment used in Omagh originated from the Provisionals, who are happy to pass the baton on to their colleagues in the 'Real' IRA.
Republican violence continues, while the political masters of the republican movement take their place in the government of this country.
Two infants among the nine children among the 28 victims of the Omagh bomb. One is driven to despair as I doubt if this atrocity will decrease in any way Tony Blair and Mo Mowlam's commitment to keeping Sinn Fein/ IRA happy.
As Enoch Powell, a true Ulster Unionist, said: "When the English are in hot pursuit of their political interests, a little thing like the inherent impossibility of what they profess to intend has never been known to stop them."
