VICTIM'S FAMILIES SUBJECTED TO MENTAL TORTURE
Victims' families subjected to mental torture
THE Omagh bombing was certainly an atrocious crime against humanity. In the face of such evil, 'Justice must always prevail."
The psychological damage caused to those who survived this terrible onslaught cannot adequately be put into words. Of course, anything that could possibly cause more psychological harm to the people of Omagh must be discouraged.
Surely the Omagh bereaved should not be told that they should somehow find it in their hearts to forgive the people who committed such incredible atrocities. Yet this is exactly what some Christians have been doing. Taking advantage of this appalling situation in order to preach to the bereaved - "forgive your enemies". Imposing this responsible, this extremely controversial and questionable concept on the minds of people who have suffered such profound loss, is nothing but contemptible. It is a form of mental torture.
