DOUBLE SPEAK

Double Speak

GERRY Adams is still not into "the politics of condemnation ' in spite of recent pronouncements.
The meeeting of the triumvirate to decide the wording of a statement gave Gerry Adams a chance to indulge in his beloved semantics for a dual purpose.
First, by condemning the bombing in Omagh, he gave a spurious credibility to the apparent separation of the IRA and the dissidents. Secondly, and more importantly, he condemned the act of terrorism and not the perpetrators.
He knows full well the difference between the message (bomb) and the messenger (murderers). When he publicly condemns the purveyors of death over the last 30 years, he will be more likely to be believed.
IT MEANS JUST WHAT I CHOOSE IT TO MEAN
