Singer won't release tribute single
THE musician whose performance at the Omagh memorial service moved people throughout the world has ruled out releasing the song as a single.
Juliet Turner -from Dromore, near Omagh -did not want to exploit the tragedy which left 28 people dead and 220 injured, her manager said.
BBC News Online said it had received requests from around the world asking if there were plans for a single of 'Broken Things' to be released as a tribute to the victims of the bombing.
But 25-year-old Miss Turner's manager, Derek Nally, said: "She sang that song at a certain moment in time.
"It is something she feels very strongly about, that she doesn't want to be seen to use the song out of a very tragic situation."
'Broken Things' was written and originally performed by American singer-songwriter Julie Miller, on her 1991 album 'He Walks Through Walls', available from Myth Records.
